A Miami Roofing Company

Posted by Jeff | Saturday, May 30, 2009

If you are looking for a Miami Roofer then you are fortunate to have stumbled upon this blog entry. There are actually many sites that tell you about their roofing services in Miami but most of them that you find online cannot really deliver. They promise certain things but do not keep their end of the bargain. Or, when they do, they leave their clients unsatisfied.

MiamiRoofer.biz is not that kind of a site. They are one of the best in Miami, if not the best. Their company’s name is Per-Max Roofing and they are a company that is focused on customer service and giving clients high quality work.

Aside from that, their products are affordable. So, that means you do not have to shell out so much cash just to get the service that you as the customer deserve. This company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and that is a strong credential that can back up their claims of good service and quality performance.

So if you are in search of a company with these qualities, then you should visit the site of Pre-Max Roofing and try them. They may just be the roofing company in Miami you are looking for.

Different Options for Your Car

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 29, 2009

As previously mentioned in one of the posts, for those with cars, different options are available for your car. You can donate them to charitable institutions or advocacy groups like our organization, Breaking Point Foundation, or the other option is to sell them and donate a part of the proceeds.

For others, getting a loan on their car is their option. They contact companies that are able to provide Car Title Loans for their car with low interest. There are companies in different parts of the US that offer this service. There are Car Title Loans Hayward companies and there is also a Car Title Loans Sacramento company.

What is important in choosing a good loan company is the kind of service they provide and finding out if they can provide the lowest interest for the loan you can get from your car. The good and quality service is important. This can prevent you from feeling like the company you are talking to is just out to make money on you. The good service will make you feel that they are doing their job and are liking out for your own interest, not just theirs. So be very careful and picky when you search for a loan company for your car. Research can do you a lot good.

A New Car Review Experience

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 29, 2009

Are you tired of reading about cars and just simply looking at pictures of cars and never really getting a real look at how it performs? Or maybe reading about cars and looking at their beautiful pictures have just become so boring.

You should try visiting this new car video site. It is a web site that shows you videos about cars like BMW videos and videos of other car brands. Like, for example, you want to learn or know about the new 2009 Honda Insight, you can check out their Honda videos to see in action, not just read about it, the performance of the car, its design and its interior and user experience.

This web site can most probably knock car magazines out of business because ti provides a very interactive and more personalized review of cars. Watching videos like the Jaguar videos they have makes one feel like they are in the car and makes the review so close to the real thing that it’s like the one inquiring is right there inside the car.

Aside from the things mentioned above, this site makes videos available by brands, and one can also view videos about auto shows.

On June 13, 2009, Breaking Point Foundation will be partnering with Charis School in Marikina City to conduct a Personal Development Seminar for their high school students and their parents. This was scheduled together with the parent's and student's orientation.

For other schools interested about this program, feel free to email our organization at breakingpoint@abusepreventionteam.org

Breaking Point Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and survives through the regular gifts and donations of its supporters and those who give on a per project basis. There are other organizations that support us not just financially but also by making their volunteers available to us. There are others who support Breaking Point by allowing us free use of their facilities. There are even individuals who support us through car donation or by lending us their car during special events where we need to transport volunteers.

Foundations or non-profit organizations usually operate this way. Many organizations even have major campaigns for fund raising. The money raised in these campaigns are all used for operations and eventually towards accomplishing the organization’s charitable mission.

There are many non-profit organizations like us. One of them is DonateACar2Charity.com. Supporting organizations like Breaking Point Foundation or DonateACar2Charity is one way of expressing support for charitable organizations. Through vehicle donations, these organizations are able to raise funds that they could use for overhead expenses like for employees salaries and for special mission projects and for funding of regular programs.

Giving to or supporting charitable organizations can also benefit a company or an individual because they can get a tax deduction. Once they have filled out the necessary documents and have cleared their car for donation, DonateACar2Charity can provide free towing with absolutely no cost to the donors. The donated car is then evaluated to help donors determine their options and provide them with the best possible tax deduction, thus, helping them maximize their tax deduction.

Best of all, donors leave a legacy that will outlast them. This is what’s most fulfilling in getting involved with support of non-profit organizations. So, if you are interested in supporting and your heart has been touched, click the necessary links in this page and donate car there.

Low Self-Esteem and Abuse

Posted by Jeff | Thursday, May 28, 2009

Among the root causes of the problems of young people regarding drug or substance abuse is having low self-esteem. According to Wikipedia, self-esteem reflects a person’s overall evaluation or appraisal of his or her own worth. When a young person displays an unstable, low self-esteem which can be caused by a lot of things, it can lead to that person being easily influenced or dragged into drugs, especially when he or she is easily accepted by a group that uses such substances.

Having low esteem can erode one’s pride and self confidence especially when a constant wave of depression hits a person. It can be likened to a house that is slowly being eaten by pests or termites. Without any outside help, like the Atlanta Pest Control or the like, it can be really difficult to cope alone.

The help and support of family, friends and other loved ones can greatly benefit someone with low self-esteem. A seminar that we conduct which talks about the Five Love Languages or five ways that we can communicate love, can be very useful for parents with teens that are suffering with low self-esteem. For inquiries, feel free to leave a comment so we can contact you or email us at breakingpoint@abusepreventiontem.org

Breaking Point and Its Desire to Reach More

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Part of the future plans of Breaking Point Foundation is to become an organization that accredits other youth organizations that share its philosophy and beliefs. It hopes to be a center of training and empowerment for volunteers from different youth organizations.

For us to achieve that, I realize that we need to start getting permanent people on board our team who will specialize in different areas of our program. We will need black belts to train others who will be part of our martial arts routine. We will also need people experienced with drama to handle our dramas. Of course, we will be needing the help of past volunteers who are very experienced with the workshops we teach and facilitate.

As these people are included in the team, they will need their own office equipment like outdoor couches
, office table and a comfortable chair, and a computer work station. And it is obvious that things like bathroom vanities or bedroom furniture won’t be necessary. We will try our best to provide their office needs but of course the budget may be limited at the beginning. We are ready to face this challenge and possibility and we hope for the best for the organization.

Additional Benefits for Employees

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 27, 2009

When I started out as a volunteer at Breaking Point Foundation, I didn’t receive any financial compensation, of course. But after two years of volunteering, assisting in training of new volunteers and eventually leading the local team of volunteers, I was offered the job to start up the office of Breaking Point International here in the Philippines.

When I was hired officially in January of 2001, I received a good starting pay for a single person during that time. When I was given additional responsibilities, I started receiving other benefits such as a healthcare plan which covers hospitalization in a semi-private room. It wasn’t like that of kaiser permanente of course. But it was enough for me.

This online insurance company has different areas covered in the USA. They have a kaiser permanente Colorado office. This state is one of the few places where our volunteers have come from. Another office they have is kaiser permanente California .

Wherever you are located, this company can give you what you want. Whether it is individual and family coverage or a group or business coverage, you can easily find it. So, for companies like ours who need to start providing additional benefits to their employees, try this company.

Business Opportunities in High Schools

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 27, 2009

In high schools that Breaking Point Foundation has gone to, I have observed the absence of Vending Machines or the lack of it. In the cities in Metro Manila, public high schools can range from 1,800 students per campus to 8,000 students. With this number, it can be difficult to provide a facility, like a canteen, to hold the students and service all their needs.

But having additional facilities, in my opinion, like a drinking fountain, a Vending Machine and some food carts can help serve the needs of these students. This can also open opportunities to teachers who can venture into the Vending Machine Business or food cart business.

They just need to learn about the types of Vending Machines and other information that can help them start their Vending Machine Business right. They should also be aware of the impact of having another business, aside from their responsibilities in their teaching profession, can have. By knowing and anticipating this, they can make adjustments without really taking their other responsibilities for granted.

But, all this, of course must be under the approval of the school administrators and the school division superintendent. This is necessary so that there will be no stepping over of responsibilities and no conflict of interest happens.

This past few days have been very hectic as our organization conducted Pre-enrollment seminars from May 20-22 and today, May 26, 2009 at Gen. Pio del Pilar National High School in Makati. The seminars were for students who had academic and behavioral problems last year and those transferring from another school. The topics that were discussed were about obedience and attitude. The parents of these students also went through the seminar but the topics for the parents were different. They were about finances and relationships.

The pre-enrollment seminar is one of the new prgrams being offered by Breaking Point Foundation and so far, two schools have availed of this program this year and another school, a private school in Marikina City, is inquiring about it.

Electrician Needed this Next Few Weeks

Posted by Jeff | Monday, May 18, 2009

Does anyone know any electrician or companies like Madison Electrician but based here in the Philippines? One of Breaking Point Foundation’s sponsor, Sumulong Baptist Church – Makati (www.sbcmakati.org), in the next few weeks will be having some of its electrical plugs and lighting for their church sign fixed.

The electric plugs are for the stage equipment like the guitar amplifiers, guitar effects and fans. There used to be multiple plugs at the SBC Makati’s stage area but they suffered from natural wear and tear through regular use. They also need to be replaced to accommodate more plugs and doing this might require an upgrade of the circuit breaker of its connection.

For SBC Makati’s church sign, well, there used to be a connection already. That was for the previous lighted sign. But the church is not familiar with its connection and switch so they are considering just having it redone and a new one be installed for the new sign. With the larger surface area of 18 feet by 5 feet, they would need more lighting to make it visible at night. This new sign that they had installed is sort of a billboard but quite smaller than the regular one.

Right now, plans for the July missions trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan are already drawn up. The schedule of the trip is set on July 26, which is a Sunday, to the 29th or the 30th of the same month which is either Wednesday or Thursday.

During last year’s trip, we had the same schedule but went into at least for campuses. This year, we will be going to just one school (one of the high schools we went to last year). This school has a big population and we are looking into doing two or three programs per day for two days for us to show the program to all the students in the school.

In our visit last year, one thing we noticed is that the school does not have a facility where multiple classes can be gathered together to watch a large group presentation. The school may need some additional structures for this type of activity and may need to avail the services of companies like Wichita Remodeling, but locally based. If that happens in the next few months then we can reduce the number of programs we will need to present at the high school in Palawan. If not, then we will be ready.

Saving Funds for Activities

Posted by Jeff | Monday, May 18, 2009

Our office which is located at 3/F 9642 Kalayaan Avenue, Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City is really the office of SBC Makati. We share this space with them, or more accurately , SBC Makati allows us to use their facilities for our organization’s needs. They are not the only organization that allows us to use facilities, in fact, other organizations in Antipolo, Pasig and Quezon City allow us to use their facilities too and even send volunteers to our programs.

Anyway, about the office in Makati, during the rainy days of summer, we have been experiencing the leaks in the roof. We have talked to the building administrator and have aired our concerns and we are glad that they have promised to take care of the leaks. That is good news because we won’t have to hire roofing companies like Harrisburg Roofer. That will save our organization from the cost of the expenses for the work that needs to be done on the roof of the building.

Lately, we have been thinking of ways to cut cost as a lot of the funds need to be allotted for activities like the two pre-enrollment seminars in the two high schools in Makati (Pitogo High School and Gen. Pio del Pilar National High School).

A Vision for our Organization

Posted by Jeff | Saturday, May 16, 2009

Just recently a sign was put up outside the current office of Breaking Point Foundation. Our organization’s logo was not placed their because it was the sign for the ministry that supports our organization and allows us to use their office facilities.

Breaking Point Foundation is set up in such a way that it is technically independent from other organizations that support it. But it operates in such a way that most of its participants are volunteers from other organizations that support its mission, vision and philosophy.

Eventually, when funds become available, our organization will have its own sign installed on its own office and facility. At least, that is the vision of the organization – to have its own office facility, and un its own office and support its own administrators. We hope that funds will eventually become available to be used for hiring companies like Chicago Electrician to install the lights on its sign, for supporting regular staff like a martial arts team that can reproduce itself by training other martial artists, for feeding its volunteers during programs and funding other mission trips and initial preparatory trips. We believe that nothing is impossible especially with the noble endeavor that we have, people will eventually buy into what our organization does and support it.

How nice it could be for our organization when we would b able to provide coverage of our school programs and allow supporters and other volunteers to view them through a Direct tv connection. That would be truly cool.

The technology of having a direct tv connection is already available. The other options for coverage is through online streaming but this kind of connection is just limited to internet users. For TV users however, a directtv connection is the one for them.

This would provide more access for potential or existing supporters to the programs we conduct. This may seem a little too far fetched, but who knows? Maybe a few years from now that would be just a norm.

Tomorrow is our first Pre-emrollment Seminar at Pitogo High School. The seminar was proposed upon request of the Supreme Student Government of the said high school in coordination with their guidance counseling office and retention program adviser.

The program will deal with topics lik Attitude and Authority/ Morality for the students and Avoiding Financial Tension and Building Strong Families for parents. The expected number of participants is more thatn 400 (parents and students). Out group is excited to conduct its first pre-enrollment seminar at Pigo High School and are hoping for the success of this event.

Plumbing Projects for our Facility

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 15, 2009

At the current office of Breaking Point Foundation Philippines, which is where SC Makati and JIVE Youth Center and Manna Feeding Center Guadalupe are housed, there are some plumbing issues that we need to work on.

The faucet in the kitchen sink that we use for the church and our feeding program from Tuesday to Friday needs to be replaced. It has been leaking for a while now and we have made some attempts to fix it but to no avail.

The same thing happened with the piping connections in our men’s restroom. The faucet in the sink of the restroom for males is not working because of the piping system underneath the sink. This is another project we need to work on soon. We also need to buy a sink for the ladies restroom.

In our church, we don’t have a professional plumber or at least someone who knows how to fix these things. E have considered hiring locally based plumbing companies like Lubbock Plumber but we are still working on budgeting for these projects.

We hope that in the next few weeks, after paying off rent and electricity, we will be able to work on these repairs and parts replacements.

Being Resonsible Stewards of God's Resources

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 15, 2009

Recently, our church’s giving has increased which is really a great blessing because it has allowed us to upgrade our facilities. Some of the major projects our church has gone into are, first, the purchase of a video projector.

Early this year, we were able to purchase our new video projector which is the Acer X1160Z. It boasts of 2,000 ANSI Lumens and produces a very clear projection. This has greatly upgraded how we did things at church this past few months. We have even tried doing a film showing and we saw the movie Fireproof as a Valentine event.

Secondly, earlier last year or the other year, one of the young professionals at church purchased a set of cymbals for our drum set and this has also drastically changed for good our music ministry.

With these investments, we have increased security in our church and members of our youth and adult ministries have worked together to police in the facility. We just need to get some of the locks in the church upgraded. We can probably hire companies like San Francisco Locksmith or at least a local version of it so we can make sure that all the investments we have made are properly secured and we act as responsible stewards of these resources God has given us.

JIVE and a Vision of the Future

Posted by Jeff | Friday, May 15, 2009

When JIVE Youth Ministry, in the future, finally will have to purchase its own property for a youth center, it will need to hire a contractor to build it like Jersey City Concrete which is contractor at Jersey City. The youth ministry really hopes that its young people who turn into professional will carry on this endeavor by having a vision about the youth ministry facility.

Most of JIVE Youth Ministry’s target audience at present is the high school students which the organization believes to be a very strategic age group as many individuals make their major decisions during this stage of life.

JIVE is happy to see some of its youth run into professionals. This past few months, one just passed the Civil Engineering board exam. We also have another youth member who is taking up Architecture and we hope that young people like them would be the ones to take on the plans for JIVE Youth Ministry’s property plans and design.

This is the vision of JIVE and SBC Makati. To see the youth of Makati make life changing decisions for Christ and to eventually mobilize them using their gifts, abilities and talents to build up the present ministry.

Prevent Car Failure During Important Events

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Summer in the Philippines is not the best time to have your car air conditioning system fail. One, the heat is too much and, number two, the humidity makes it work. Especially when you are on your way to a meeting or a Breaking Point program and you have many volunteers with you inside one vehicle. That is bad, really.

That’s why it’s real important to maintain your vehicle properly. For air con and other auto parts like a diesel fuel pump, oil seals, etc., you can visit DieselPartsPros.com. This is a web site to view for parts for vehicles that have a diesel engine.

One of the things that we tell people who struggle with bad habits, whether involving substance abuse or not, is that keeping themselves busy doing something for other people can help them fight the temptation of repeating the activity or habit.

But this does not mean that they have to wear themselves down with their work or whatever activity they are involved in. They must also take time to enjoy their break. It does not have to be an expensive vacation since there are now many sources of Cheap Holidays available on the internet. Sometimes, a break is effective to break patterns especially in a bad habit.

This coming July, Breaking Point Foundation Philippines will be having another missions trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The volunteers we have had in the past international missions trips were from different places. There have been volunteers who have come from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who left their Tulsa Roofing job for a week and joined our missions trip, from Kansas City, Missouri, Canada and many other places.

In this July’s missions trip to Palawan, volunteers will be coming from Houston, Texas and from two areas in the Philippines. There will be a team to be trained from the hosting group (Puerto Princesa) and another team which will be the program team from Manila, or more specifically, Antipolo City, Rizal.

It has been said also that in this year’s mission trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the volunteers from the US will be mostly college students. Our organization is excited and is hoping to get their participation in the large group and class room presentations of Breaking Point, especially in the dramas and the role playing and teaching of effective refusal skills. This is about two months from now and volunteers are in the process of raising funds for the trip and planning and preparing for the other details of the missions trip.

Whether it is comfort cooling or heating during the winter, Gideon Heating and AC is the Abilene HVAC Contractor to contact. When choosing a contractor, it is very important to find a contractor who is not based so far away from your location.

Reliable Service Team

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 06, 2009

We are often told that to spot a fake is to get to know the genuine. This is so true. With tons of advertising media enticing people to patronize their product or services, but the truth is only a few of them deliver.

The fact remains that from amongst that are advertised on paper and via the internet, a large percentage are phony ones. This is when recommendations weigh more. In fact more than believing print ads, we are more apt to take into consideration personal recommendations from people that we know.

If you happen to look for reliable Atlanta Locksmiths, you might want to check out AtlantaLocks.org and you will read for yourself the very testimonials of those people who have benefited from their quality service. Full lock service for your residence or office, even your cars. The team behind this company is on call 24/7. It is also a plus that they do not charge unreasonably, in fact you really get your money’s worth. It is not even a surprise why realtors themselves are recommending them to their buyers and homeowners.

It is one thing to get things done, it is another to get things done the right way.

SSG Advisers and faculty from the five high schools who participated in the 2009 summer youth camp

Delegates from the high schools in Makati

A total of 5 high schools from Makati participated in this year’s summer youth camp which was co-organized by Breaking Point Foundation. A letter of invitation was sent to the office of the Division of City Schools of Makati prior to the event and was approved by the Division Superintendent. However, not all the nine high schools of Makati were able to send delegates as the communication was sent and released quite near the end of the classes and other high schools have already made plans for summer activities.

The five high schools that sent delegates were Gen. Pio del Pilar National High School, Pitogo high School, Bangkal High School, San Isidro National High School and San Antonio National High School. Below are photos of the delegates and faculty members who participated in the summer youth camp.

Practical Tips to Help the Environment

Posted by Jeff | Wednesday, May 06, 2009

Aside from substance and violence prevention, we also encourage people we come across with to take part in doing their share in helping the environment. Practical tips can really go a long way, if we come to think about it. Global warming is at its peak and we all feel the wrath of the environment because of the many years of abuse by its inhabitants –us.

Practical tips start with making sure to change all light bulbs in the house with energy saving ones. We can easily conclude that 20% of electricity bill of every household comes from lighting facilities. We all know how traditional bulbs’ energy is wasted because it turns to heat while energy saving ones work light fluorescent lamps. These kinds of lamps might be a little pricier than the regular bulbs but it will prove to be the more practical buy because it lasts longer than the regular one. This alone will cut electricity cost and will save you money.

Unplug electrical appliances when not in use. Very often we just allow the to stay plugged out of convenience for later use. But fact is, appliances eats up electricity even when on standby. Wirings should also be checked by a qualified electrician, like a Denver Electrician.

Among the best specialists is Dr. Brian West, a plastic surgeon who is committed to helping other people feel good about their looks and generally about themselves. Dr. Brian West Plastic Surgeon is holding at least five different offices in Southern California and is well experienced and well trained in the area of plastic surgery.

To read more about who this honored plastic surgeon is you can click the Dr. Brian West Plastic Surgeon Links in his web site and find other pages to read about him. He will not only make you feel good but he can give you a good morale boost or a positive push for your self esteem. Visit his site.

Assistance and Prevention Provided

Having some things needed to be repaired at home can be a real big hassle to homeowners. For plumbing related problems they have to know a plumber who can handle the job. I have personally dealt with this kind of problem at home and appreciate the help of someone who can do the job.

Aside from problems with pipes, drainiage, etc. those with electrical problems at home, a good electrician is what is needed. For those residing in the area of Virginia Beach, you can contact Virginia Beach Electricians at ViriginiaBeachElectrician.org. This is a web site that can provide you with competent electricians at the right price. Sometimes, it is hard to find the right electrician to do the job. But with the help of the web site that was just mentioned, this problem can also be minimized.

A competent electrician can also help you in minimizing the chances of having an electrical fire. Since they have a very good idea of how to handle problems at home related to this, they can easily provide the solution. Isn’t that a great comfort to homeowners? I, as a homeowner, appreciate this kind of assistance and prevention that is available in the internet.
